High School Wrestler Given the Option to Cut His Hair or Lose the Match

A referee at a high school wrestling match in New Jersey gave one wrestler an ultimatum, either cut your dreadlocks or lose your match.

Andrew Johnson of Buena Regional High School was ready to wrestle in a regional match when the referee gave him the option. He chose to cut his hair, but it was a decision he clearly wasn’t happy with as you can see in the video below.

Johnson ended up winning his match which gave the high school the win the tournament.

Referee Alan Maloney has run into criticism in the past over his officiating.
