George "Buddy" Peterson was a 13 yr old that took his life on Sunday night. He was a victim of bullying. There is a fund set up at Mountain America Credit Union to help in this sad situation. It is set up as the "Buddy Peterson memorial fund." Our town is distraught over this tragedy and would like to get the word out.
Buddy Peterson was 13 yrs old. He was bullied a lot by fellow students and some teachers. . Sunday night, he was at home with his family. He went upstairs, then took his life by shooting himself. He put the gun underneath his chin and pulled the trigger. There were police officers and K9 units, and ambulance that responded immediately. Buddy was life flighted to the hospital where he passed.
He was only 13. Bullying is not an issue that we can take lightly. We should teach our kids to stand up for themselves, and stand up for others when they see this happening.

On January 13, 2013 we lost our beloved 13 year old son Buddy, a giant of a man. Anyone who knew Buddy could see that he had a heart bigger than dreams and more precious than gold. He was always thinking of others, especially those he cherished most, his family, his friends, his teammates, his coaches and trainers and his beloved Samantha.
Buddy had such a love and talent for many things including football, where his teams won two State Championship titles; TaeKwonDo, where he had earned his Second Degree Black Belt and was the 2009 State Champion in Sparring and Weapons with the American TaeKwonDo Association (ATA).
Buddy had such a thirst for knowledge and discovery, he was always ready to invent “the next greatest thing”. He loved to draw and had an amazing talent for art, and had great computer ability.
Buddy was an amazing Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin and Friend.
Survived by his Parents, 3 sisters; Nicole (JL) Dunaway, Amanda Cline (James Montoya), Victoria (James) Gage, 12 nieces and nephews, many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Preceded in death by his Grandparents; George & Vicki Poff and Verl & Pat Peterson.
Services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at the Copperton Ward 8366 W. Hillcrest Street, Copperton, Ut. Friends may call Wed. January 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 and on Thursday, one hour prior to the services. Internment: West Jordan City Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been set up at Mountain America Credit Union (www.macu.com) under the name “Buddy Peterson Memorial Fund”
