Do you fake having an accent? Do you know someone with a thick accent and you can't understand them? Friend of mine was born in Scotland but moved here when he was little. He still has a heavy accent but its totally fake. I catch him without it sometimes I know a lady who breaks out into brittish accent when she is scared or nervous. It happened at a restaurant and i was so embarrassed. Lol My grandma had her english slang only when she was drunk lol r.i.p grandma Waiter at red lobster eases into an accent as dinner goes on..... Drives me nuts! As luck would have it - he's always our waiter My ex husband had an affair and talked to his little "girlfriend" and her entire family in a fake Scottish accent. I cant ever hear my husbands until we go back to florida and he is with his friends, it becomes really thick Sometimes my friends and i like to fake our accents when we go clubbing just for laughs but by the end of the night my accent is a mixture of irish english I am from brazil. And people look at me like i am an e. t. I'm from here, but a couple of the guys I work with thought I was from Texas knew a lady who was in a car accident. She had a head injury and for a year she sounded like she was from Sweden. It's fine now. It was weird My friend always goes into a Irish accent every time he is drunk its so annoying! My husband does that with Spanish accents. He doesn't even realize he's doing it. I am Japanese. no accent... but born here...i have had people tell me I speak good English....:( I tricked a bunch of guys into believing i was from England, for two weeks I work at a Chinese restaurant and i can't seem to say my r's at the end of the night. My family all makes fun of me but i can't help it My husband spent 2 years in Argentina whenever he talks dirty to me he has a Spanish accent and that is it it is so hilarious Every time my brother watches get him to the Greek he speaks with a British accent for the rest of the day I know a guy born in Australia. Left as an infant but went back on his mission. 4 yrs later still has accent and tells people he's Australian. I have a friend from Georgia that has lost her accent but every time she is around guys she talks in it for attention... lame This girl I know went to Scotland one summer to stay with her cousins and when she came back she kept the accent for about 3 years! It was so annoying! I am from utah but I live in houston for many years. I definitely picked up an accent while I lived there. I'll try not to do it but sometimes after a few drink I have a spanish accent, and use to work with people from Argentina. Their accent started to stick to me I would catch myself talking like that People always ask me if I'm from Canada but I'm from Utah My BF served his LDS mission in Baton Rouge and now he talks like he is a southern black guy. Haha Born and raised in hawaii lost my hawaiian accent...but when I'm with my friends it comes out my brother is a lazy talker and ppl think he has a southern accent. its kinda funny cuz he just slurs his words together. I'm born and raised in Utah but people often ask if I'm from Boston. Had a friend from england but she only had an accent when she was with her parents. Knew a guy in my ward who pulled out this French accent while blessing the sacrament. The weirdest thing. I have lived here my whole life but ppl say every once in while I have a southern accent If you have a Utah accent but use proper english people in Utah ask where you're from. If you say "we was" or "them are" there isn't any confusion. I have family from central utah and they do have southern accent I'm from Wyoming and people ask if I'm from Wisconsin all of the time. I tell them it's my deviated septum.
