I know this may seem a bit strange, Don't know if any of you are contemporary reggae fans but my son Josh WaWa White has shocked me. He recently released a new album "line Em Up" which is currently within the top 25 best selling reggae albums on iTunes. One of his songs "movin about my ways," more of a contemporary reggae song, has blown up in California and Hawaii and is played on regular rotation in California and on Hawaii's Iheart radio 98.5 The song is also at number 3 on Hawaii's 93.1.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UlsOskl1Hw   Most Polynesians locally know him.
