My name is Hannah Aizad. I am running the Utah Valley Half Marathon and the Wasatch Back Ragnar this weekend and next for the Huntsman Hometown Heroes. The Huntsman Hometown Heroes is a generous organization that works to raise money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. I am running the Wasatch Back on the team "Cancer Vive". We are all working hard to fundraise before our race.
The Huntsman Cancer Institute is a vital part of our community that strives to further our community through life-saving research. Cancer, unfortunately, is a disease that none of us can escape. It affects us either directly or affects those we love. We, on the "Cancer Vive" Huntsman Hometown Heroes team understand that. One member of our team is a cancer survivor who received treatment at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Another lost her father to cancer and is running this race specifically in his honor. That is why we have committed ourselves to raise money while simultaneously doing what we love: running in our beautiful city.
