On your way to the club on a Friday night and need some music to get you going? Or are you at home with friends having the time of your life, but the music just plain suck? D.J. Panamaaaaaaaa to the rescue.
D.J. Panama got his start in Queens, New York at a basement party back when LL Cool J, Run DMC and others where just local icons. He was immediately hooked the first moment he saw the D.J. doing his thing on the ones and twos. Panama's musical roots began as a member of the marching band at the school he attended in Panama, Rep. of Panama, hence the name. To make a long story short, he set aside those musical instruments for two turntables, a mixer and a pair of headphones, the rest is history.
The name "Panama" was originally given to him by his drill Sergeant while he was in basic training for the Air Force. He was actually called "Panama Jack". Panama's first base of assignment brought him to Utah and after a few months of adjustments in his new surroundings he was back in the music business under the name "Panama Vice".
Panama has played at all the major clubs in Salt Lake, Ogden and Provo as well as internationally in countries like China, Costa Rica, Japan, Korea and his native country Panama.
His radio career started at a local station on 1010 am back in the late 80's. After leaving Utah for a year he continued his radio career at "Continental Stereo" in Panama. Back in Salt Lake he took some time to volunteer at a local community radio station where he had a successful radio show for 8 years.
